“Monopoly”
Topic
The
exciting meeting ever seen in GLN EC on 7th, July
In recent time, the existence of monopolists in
Vietnam, namely EVN, Vinalines, has been increasingly prevalent which may annoy
us as consumers. Many people resist that monopoly only possesses its drawbacks
while some others believe it still contains some advantages towards our
society. Surely, it is true that resembling a coin, everything has two sides
which include both negative and positive ones. Those are reasons why we –
GLNers witnessed the truly heated meeting on the last Saturday.
Firstly, we were desperately glad of welcoming many
new faces coming to us which compromised to have a very interesting meeting as
expected. After the introduction part,
the informative game provided us a number of vocabularies which would be very
helpful for the next parts.
Afterwards, all members had experienced a definitely
hot discussion about “monopoly” which may cover some opposites inside. It is
true that “monopoly” has been viewed as black dots for society; yet, many
members still claim that it must exist to ensure the consistent delivery of
goods and services. Obviously, those contrast ideas were conducive to not only
enhancing people’s knowledge but also mutual understanding.
In an effort to cool the hot atmosphere after the
discussion part, all of us played the game called “Seven up” together. As can
be seen clearly, we enjoyed unforgettable moments with laughs, claps during the
game. I must say that each person seemed to take all their energy back for the
last part.
Next, it is amazed that the debate became the most
heated part thanks to the well-preparation of each group after
ten-minute-discussion. Surely, you couldn’t forget the images of the group 1
and 2 when each group was respectively in charge of being for and against for a
given statement which Viettel should be the unique firm in telecommunication
field. Mr. Nghị and Mr. Nguyen could serve as examples when two of them
strongly defended their own ideas. They, however, after hot debate, could get
to know each other better for the purpose of connecting among people.
Needless to say, the meeting on the last Saturday
could give us reasons why we should come to GLN each weekend because you can
enjoy friendly speaking English environment, relax together with making friends
who may be your congenial companion in future.
