Essay climate change.docx Essay climate change

Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather over periods of time that range from decades to millions of years. It may be limited to a specific region, or may occur across the whole Earth. Climate change results to : higher temperatures, changing landscape, wildlife at risk, rising seas, increased risk of drought, fire and floods, stronger storms and increased storm damage, more heat-related illness and disease, economic losses. The 3 billion people who live in poverty around the world will be hardest hit by climate change. The poor are more dependent on natural resources and have less of an ability to adapt to a changing climate. The causes of climate change can be divided into two categories - those that are due to natural causes and those that are created by man. There are a number of natural factors responsible for climate change. Some of the more prominent ones are continental drift, volcanoes, ocean currents, the earth's tilt, and comets and meteorites. Besides, all of us in our daily lives contribute our bit to this change in the climate. The Industrial Revolution in the 19th century saw the large-scale use of fossil fuels for industrial activities. These industries created jobs and over the years, people moved from rural areas to the cities. This trend is continuing even today. More and more land that was covered with vegetation has been cleared to make way for houses. Natural resources are being used extensively for construction, industries, transport, and consumption. The need of material things has increased by leaps and bounds, creating mountains of waste. Also, our population has increased to an incredible extent. All this has contributed to a rise in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas supply most of the energy needed to run vehicles generate electricity for industries, households, etc. The energy sector is responsible for about ¾ of the carbon dioxide emissions, 1/5 of the methane emissions and a large quantity of nitrous oxide. It also produces nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide which are not greenhouse gases but do have an influence on the chemical cycles in the atmosphere that produce or destroy greenhouse gases. Reducing and preventing climate change aren’t impossible but it needs the responsibility of each individual and the right policies of the government.

Prominent : nổi bật, đáng chú ý.

Extensively : rộng rãi, bao quát.

Cosmetic Surgery

For most of us, whether we like it or not, physical appearance influences how we see ourselves and how others see us. The size, shape, and look of our bodies may affect how we feel about ourselves and, in some cases, how we function. There is nothing wrong with wanting to change the way you look. Some people do this through diet, exercise, and other lifestyle changes. Some have cosmetic surgery, especially if they are unhappy with a specific aspect of their body or appearance that surgery can change.

Cosmetic surgery is the process of undergoing surgery to improve one's physical appearance. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, cosmetic surgery (also referred to as plastic surgery) began more than 4,000 years ago. In India, physicians practiced reconstructive work through skin grafts dating back to 800 B.C.

Cosmetic surgery encompasses a wide range of procedures. Each procedure has its own advantages and disadvantages, too.

The advantages of plastic surgery can be many in the right circumstances. Firstly, cosmetic surgery can be exactly what you need to enhance your image. Having a positive self image can give you the self confidence that you need to get a better job, try new things and it will give you a general overall feeling of well being. Secondly, another advantage of plastic surgery is the ability to correct physical defects. These patients may have physical defects that have resulted from an accident or a bad case of acne as a teenager. Some people are born with physical defects that have plagued them since birth and cosmetic surgery can finally give them a shot at a normal life.

However, as with any surgery, cosmetic surgery involves risk. The Mayo Clinic states that along with usual surgery risks such as heart attack, stroke, blood clots and pneumonia, there can be other surgical complications such as bleeding. If you choose the wrong doctor or a doctor that is not certified, you could be risking your health and your life in some cases. At the very least, a bad doctor could make you worse than you were before you went in for the surgery. Another disadvantage of cosmetic surgery is the anesthesia used during the procedure. Anesthetic complications are more common than many people realize and they can be fatal in rare cases. Moreover, a small percentage of people also get addicted to cosmetic surgery. They may find a celebrity in Hollywood that they want to look like and undergo several procedures in order to look like that person. One of the prohibitive disadvantages of cosmetic surgery is the cost. A simple Botox injection can cost as much as $400 and even more in some parts of the country where it is more popular. A nose job is usually more than $4,000 and eyelid surgery is at least $3,000. So you must make sure that the cost of the surgery is not going to cause financial hardship upon yourself or your family.

In conclusion, there is nothing wrong with wanting to make yourself beautiful or wanting to feel better about yourself. In a society where image is everything, feeling and looking good is important. The question to ask yourself is how far would you go to look perfect? Before you consider something as drastic as cosmetic surgery, make sure you are happy with who you are on the inside, because the outside can change at a moment's notice.

In Viet Nam, fast food is on the pedestrian is quite popular. It has been once banned by the government.

· What do you think about this? Should it be banned or not?

Fast Food

In a modern society, fast food becomes more and more popular. The name of MC Donald and KFC are so familiar not only with American but also Vietnamese. The appearance of fast food is an important stamp of food industry. It is also the same to computer or internet. It has both positive and negative sides. It is necessary for us to understand more advantages and disadvantages of fastfood.

Firstly, in terms of the advantages, fast food helps us to save a lot of time. In a very fast pace of life today, there is nothing better than getting a ready meal. At the end of a hard working day, when one returns home all tired and hungry, a pizza or a humberger can be a godsend. We needn’t spend time preparing meals. We can spend this time relaxing by watching and eating fruits instead. Besides saving time, cost-saving is another advantage. For example, if one lives alone, it is cheaper to buy a meal in the supermarket than to cook.

However, there are also many disadvantages when you use fast food. Fast food may have the adverse effects on one’s health. It contains so much salt, fats and calories. Fast food is an important contributer to obesity. The result is that these accumulate in our body as fat deposits that cause complications such as cardiovascular diseases and others relating to the heart. In fact, a recent study has shown that people living to a fast food restaurant are at 13% higher risk of suffering from strokes than others. Another disadvantage is that fast food is making a large number of families spend less time together. Family meal time is something that considered an opportunity for all family members to share their experiences and to be closer to the others.

In general, fast food has both the advantages and the disadvantages. Therefore, before using it, we should think carefully whether you should or not in terms of time and others.
