Trong bất kì một môi trường nào, học tập hay làm việc, điều khiến bạn thực hiện một cách hiệu quả nhất đó là sự hào hứng với công việc đó. Chính niềm vui trong học tập và lao động khiến các bạn tiến bộ nhanh hơn.

Học tiếng Anh cũng vậy. Bạn đã từng băn khoăn đặt ra câu hỏi “ Tại sao mình đã từng học rất nhiều trong trường phổ thông, rồi trên giảng đường Đại học mà mình vẫn không đủ tự tin để giao tiếp và hoà nhập với những công việc đòi hỏi tiếng Anh hay các mối quan hệ với các bạn nước ngoài?”

Câu lạc bộ tiếng Anh tổ chức tại GLN Vietnam là nơi gặp gỡ, giao lưu của các bạn có cùng mục đích muốn được nâng cao khả năng giao tiếp tiếng Anh của mình. Kiến thức nếu chỉ nằm trên sách vở hoặc không được sự chia sẻ, tiếp nhận thì quả là không đủ. Câu lạc bộ tiếng Anh GLN tạo ra một không gian trao đổi tiếng Anh hào hứng, lý thú. Thành viên câu lạc bộ từ nhiều độ tuổi khác nhau, từ nhiều ngành nghề khác nhau. Khi tham gia vào câu lạc bộ, mỗi thành viên có cơ hội bộc lộ mình nhiều hơn và cũng được học hỏi từ những thành viên khác.

Học mà chơi – Chơi mà học là phương châm của câu lạc bộ. Lồng ghép trong các trò chơi vui vẻ là những kĩ năng làm việc nhóm, kĩ năng tư duy logic…Xuyên suốt các chủ đề được thảo luận, thuyết trình là sự hài hước, dí dỏm, thông minh của các thành viên tham gia.

Tại câu lạc bộ tiếng Anh GLN, tất cả đều có thể trở thành những người lãnh đạo nhóm. Mỗi một buổi sinh hoạt, bạn sẽ là người lập ra kế hoạch tổ chức chương trình, tự mình dẫn dắt buổi sinh hoạt. Qua mỗi một buổi sinh hoạt câu lạc bộ, bạn lại trải nghiệm thêm được những kĩ mới, tìm cho mình được những bạn đồng hành mới để chia sẻ kiến thức ngày một nhiều hơn.
Tổ chức vào thứ 7 hàng tuần, Câu lạc bộ tiếng Anh GLN đang dần trở thành một địa chỉ quen thuộc của những bạn có niềm yêu thích với “Ngôn ngữ thứ 2 của thế giới này”

GLN English Club Contents 17th April

1. HIV/AIDS Discussion

1.1. Logistical Details:

Maximum attendance: 50 people per workshop

Minimum Duration: 30 minutes

1.2. Content

The workshops cover the 5 following areas:

The workshop content will be delivered in the following ways:

Overall presentation using a PowerPoint, which will cover:

· Global HIV/AIDS reality

· HIV/AIDS in Vietnam

· What is HIV? What is AIDS?

· How is HIV Spread?

· What’s safe? What’s not safe?

· Prevention

· Testing & why testing is important

· Positive Living and Treatment

1.3. Interactive activities, such as:

· HIV and AIDS quiz to understand knowledge levels at the beginning and knowledge levels at the end of the workshop;

· Group activities to understand each of the above five areas;

· Acting and interpretation by the other workshop participants (to understand how HIV affects the immune system);

· Rating a range of statements for risk level between: ‘no risk’, ‘low risk’, ‘medium risk’ and ‘high risk’;

· Rating most effective and least effective prevention methods for specific scenarios;

· Condom demonstrations (learning how to describe what condoms are and the different types available locally, where to obtain, how to use properly, etc); and

· Discussion of solutions to HIV/AIDS problems that people may face (such as work related, family related, etc.

2. Step up discussion

2.1. Logistical Details:

· Culture Understanding

· Social Responsibility

· Active Learning

The workshop content will be delivered in the following ways:

2.2.1. Culture Understanding

· Cultural features of countries in the world

· Differences between culture in Vietnam and other countries

· How to overcome culture shocks and integrate with a new culture

2.2.2. Social Responsibility

· Global/Vietnam environment reality

· Why we need to protect environment?

· How we can protect environment?

2.2.3. Active Learning

· What is Active Learning?

· Why Active Learning?

· How to learn actively?

2.3. Interactive activities, such as

· Culture Understanding: foreign traditional games, learn new languages (in words), presentation about Vietnamese culture, quizzes about culture

· Social Responsibility: quizzes about environment, making green products, design poster/logo/slogan, presentation, debate

· Active Learning: quizzes, use active learning methods and compare with other methods

GLN English Club 10th April Activities

Activities:
2h30 – 2h40 : Introduction
The new members will introduce themselves. If there are no new members, everybody can talk about the last meeting.
2h40 – 3h10 : A ctivity 1

Rule:
The game will be played with the first person, volunteer or the leader have to choose randomly. Player has chance to see all member’s faces. Player have to describe about one of them (don’t allow to see again).
Other people can ask player any questions in form “does she/he has/is ....” Player can only answer yes or no. Other people guess about who the player is talking. But they have 1 chance only to guess.

If the guess is :
Right: The person had been talked will be the next player
Wrong: The person guessed will be the next player
• The game will play within 30 minutes.

3h10 – 3h55: Activity 2
Leader will say a starting sentence. The next person has to think and say another sentence has reasonable meaning and deal with the sentence before. If player can’t make a sentence, we will skip this person and continue with the next one. There are lots of punishments for that kind of players. The game finish when there is nobody left.
• The game can play 3 times with 3 different sentences.
1 sentence nearly = 15 minutes
3 sentences x 15 = 45 minutes

3h55 : 5 minutes break
4h00 – 4h30: Activity 3
Club will be divided into 2 teams : A and B
Leader will choose a letter.
Each team have to find many verbs started with the chosen letter. The verb must be an action people can do. Then , the team have to say : A + Verb + B or B + Verb + A
Team can’t find possible word will lose.
• Can play many times with different letters.

4h30 – 5h00: Activity 4
Club will be divided into 2 teams sit in opposite site. Site A and B.
Player in site A (player A) will be given a picture and player in site B (player B) will be given a blank paper and a pencil. Player A will describe the pictures and player B will draw it in their paper. The winner is the quickest person with the correct picture.
• Player A can only say, not to use hands, player B can only draw, not to ask .
• The game can play again by changing position.

5h00 – 5h30 : Introducing about New Zealand of Teacher Dave.
It’s the end of the meeting. Members will sing a popular song by English.
