[GLN EC NTD] Report 21/07: Friendship

As you know, friendship plays an important role in our lives. Many people will walk in and out of our lives; but only true friends will leave footprints in our hearts.  They make us laugh when we are sad due to problems happened already in our life, such as breaking up with our boyfriend (or girlfriend), failing to examinations,  and so many other things, and they give us the courage to face up to challenges. To understand more about true friendship, this Saturday, we did have a great meeting, discussing nature and roles of real friends, sharing ideas about how friendship make people happy and successful.

After making friends and warming up the atmosphere by letting members introduce themselves and playing a small funny game, we moved to most fascinating part of the meeting: Discussing in pairs. In this section, we defined what friendship and true friends are. There were lots of ideas but we all agreed that friends are our truest treasures and they are very important in every life. In addition, factors to create a true friendship such as trust, honesty, and sincerity are also mentioned all discussion. At the end of this part, we came to the conclusion that those who have friends tend to be happier, healthier, and live longer than those who do not. In fact, friendship has numerous physical and spiritual benefits.

                                  Members enthusiastically raise their ideas.

The interesting discussion was followed by a stimulating game called”Making friendship poems “. Each group was given only five minutes to write a short poem and then they had to explain their ideas. In the end, we got a romantic poem and an easy-to-understand one.The last part of the meeting was working in groups, making presentation about the fact that many people choose their friends for their own sake rather than spiritual things. Lots of things were mentioned, creating a collection of informative presentations.

They are preparing for the presentation.

In conclusion, making friends, voicing opinions about friendship, and getting joyful moments are unforgettable things we did together. Thank all you for being there and helping us creating a friendly and useful environment for English lovers. Looking forward to seeing you next week!
