Private school or public school, which is the better?

Nowadays, lot types of schools are growing along with the fast-paced living in our society, particularly private (non-state) and public (state) schools. So what are the reasons why we choose one of which? For interest or for advantages? We should consider some aspects relating on fees, condition, facilities and so on to decide which is better and suitable for our attending. We find this topic very interesting and useful at GLN EC on Saturday, 22nd October 2011.

Yes of course, both private and public schools are very popular in Vietnam because of increasing a number of school-attendances. However, it seems to be that public ones have prevailed more than the private because of their lower fees, assurance, qualities and so on, which is mostly agreed in this meeting. Besides, some members raise their different ideas about the advantages and disadvantages of two kinds above. They think that private schools are much better than public ones in terms of qualities, facilities and teaching methods because teachers in private schools are more responsible and enthusiastic in teaching than those in public ones. This may be the fact in Vietnam. That’s all about discussing in pair.

After enjoying some funny and logical games to relax, we move to discuss in groups. We have divided into 3 groups to make presentation with the idea: “Some people feel that the responsibility for providing education should be borne only by government and that private education should be banned. What do you think about this?” This part really attracts all most everyone because each group shows their useful ideas and excellent performance. We not only practice our English but improve our soft skills in this meeting. Thanks to this topic, I can see some big differences between private and public schools in Vietnam more.
