[GLN EC Keangnam] Topic 31/03: Smoking

There’s a fact we can not deny that smoking is dangerous to health. Smoking increases the risk of pollution, global warming, and diseases in not only people who smoke but also people around them. But why does the number of smokers keep increasing uncontrollably? Do those people lack of awareness about the harmfulness? Or there is no clear law about this issue? Or there are things non-smokers do not know? Come to join us to discuss more deeply to get a comprehensive look about smoking, you may later change your opinion.

•  What are the risks of smoking to smokers and to people around them?
• Do you/your family members/your close relatives smoke? How do you feel?
• Can you list at least 1 good side of smoking?
• Some people say that smoking is a right of people, and it even has lots of advantages in reducing stress, lowering risks of obesity so banning it is unfair. What is your opinion?

3: 55 – 4:30 Working in groups

•   Imagine that you have went on dates with a nice girlfriend. This weekend she asks you to come to her house to meet her parents. Everything seems to be OK and you feel absolutely confident. However, you’re a smoker and her parents do not like this at all. They oppose your relationship seriously. What will you do?

• Work in group to think of solutions and then play a drama to show it to others.
